Our Okumidori is an A-Grade, single-cultivar matcha, shade-grown and first harvest, made for a deep, layered cup.
From Wazuka in Kyoto, the region south of the city that defined the ceremonial standard, the leaves are shaded for 20 days before the first flush of spring, the season's youngest and sweetest. Shading is what deepens the colour and builds the umami, and Wazuka's long tradition of careful cultivation is what lets one cultivar speak so clearly.
On its own, Okumidori pours jade-green and unfolds in layers, green pea, ripe mango and a faint coconut note, carried by a long, umami-driven finish.
Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and humidity. Once opened, keep tightly sealed and consume within 2–3 months for optimal freshness and flavor.
