Our Ceremonial Matcha is an A-Grade, shade-grown, first harvest matcha, made for a smooth, umami-rich cup.

In the mist-covered hills of Yame in Fukuoka, one of Japan's most quietly revered matcha regions, the leaves are shaded for 20 days before the first flush of spring, the season's youngest and sweetest leaves. Shading is what gives the powder its deep colour and rounded umami, and the long, careful cultivation Yame is known for is what keeps the cup so smooth.

It is a blend of three cultivars, Asatsuyu, Saemidori and Yutakamidori, each bringing something of its own to a full, layered umami body with a gentle nutty character and a clean finish.
