Matcha Delivery in Spain: Getting Quality Powder to Your Door

Matcha Delivery in Spain: Getting Quality Powder to Your Door

For matcha drinkers in Spain outside major cities — or those who prefer not to rely on local shops — online ordering and home delivery is the most efficient way to maintain a supply of quality matcha.

European-based retailers

Several European retailers specialising in Japanese tea and matcha ship to Spain with fast delivery times, no customs complications, and clear product information. These are often the best starting point. When evaluating an online retailer, look for: specific origin information with region and producer, harvest date or season, grade description, and clear packaging specifications.

Shipping conditions

Matcha does not require refrigeration during transport. Standard courier delivery is fine for most of Spain's climate. In summer, particularly in southern Spain where temperatures can be extreme, consider your delivery point — a hot communal letterbox in August is not ideal. Requesting a signed delivery or office delivery during peak heat is worth considering.

Importing directly from Japan

Ordering directly from Japanese producers is possible and sometimes the only way to access specific products. Delivery takes longer (typically two to three weeks), and orders above €150 may be subject to import duties. For most regular consumers, European-based retailers offer a better balance of quality, convenience, and cost.

What quantity to order

A 20–30g tin every four to six weeks is a reasonable starting point for one cup daily. Match the order size to your actual consumption — buying 100g tins when you drink one cup per day means the second half will be stale before you finish it.
